A walk in tub is one of the few home products where the price depends more on who sells it than what it is. The same acrylic tub with hydro jets that we install for well under $20,000 is quoted at $25,000 to $30,000 by national brands that send a salesperson to your home for a four-hour presentation. That visit, the commission, and the TV advertising are in the price. We sell by phone and quote a written range on the first call, which is why we can be honest about the numbers below.

Where a walk in tub really lands in 2026
Many national brands run $25,000 to $30,000 for a fully installed walk in tub or roll in shower. We are nowhere near that.
Our options run from shower pans under $2,000 up to fully installed walk in tubs starting around $15,000. The final number moves with the installation, not with a sales pitch:
- Which walk in tub or shower you choose, and how customized you want it
- Do we need to widen a door or go through a wall?
- Do we run electrical for hydrotherapy jets or a heated seat?
- Is there a slab, a crawlspace or a basement under the floor?
Most of the time we come in well under $20,000 fully installed with a premium walk in tub or roll in shower and the customizations you want.
What moves the installed price
- Electrical: massage systems need a dedicated 15 or 20 amp GFCI circuit. If the panel is far from the bathroom, that is the single biggest variable.
- Plumbing: reusing the existing drain and supply is cheap; moving them is not.
- The old tub: a cast iron tub costs more to remove than a fiberglass one.
- Walls and finish: extension panels and a surround to close the alcove, or tile repair.
- Access: a second-floor bathroom or a narrow doorway adds labor.
- Water heater: 75-gallon-plus tubs sometimes need a larger or tankless heater.
How to pay less without buying junk
- Skip the in-home sales visit. Any company that needs four hours in your living room is pricing that time into your tub.
- Buy supply-only if you have a trusted plumber; our warranty holds and we support them by phone.
- Choose a soaker if you will not use jets. Hydrotherapy is wonderful for arthritis and circulation and worthless if it never gets turned on.
- Ask about veteran and senior discounts and the VA HISA grant.
- Use financing only with a rate you have compared; some walk in tub financing is where the real markup hides.
